GAE BR218

General:
The BR218 complements the full-range systems of the ProStage and the larger models of the System Series in the low-end range and is at the same time the flagship of the BR Series. This model is equipped as standard with two bass-reflex tuned 18" long-throw high-performance chassis. This subwoofer has a nominal input impedance of 4 Ohms. The two direct radiating subwoofer chassis are located in an optimally tuned cabinet, which allows the maximum acoustic output power of the speakers. Due to the optimal utilization of the mechanical and thermal properties of the drivers used, maximum sound pressures of more than 135 dB (1 m) are possible.

The extraordinary tunnel construction is made of 18 mm multiplex and sets new standards in bass reflex design. Both driver chassis are symmetrically enclosed by this new type of reflex channel and the side walls and are thus uniformly loaded radially. Tumbling movements of the diaphragms are thus minimized and increase the maximum output power. The extremely large tunnel surface ensures maximum bass reflex efficiency without tunnel compression effects and at the same time increases the statics of the baffle.
The cabinet walls are also made of high-quality birch multiplex and additionally equipped with stiffening belts to prevent wall resonances. The handle constructions are designed for best handling and additionally stiffen the cabinet walls. The cabinet is sealed with black textured paint as standard. Surfaces in other RAL colours are of course available at no extra charge. The front of the loudspeaker and the driver components installed there are protected by a sturdy metal grille, which is covered with an opaque acoustic foam from the inside.

The entire construction meets all conceivable demands in the field of professional sound reinforcement technology, whether in mobile touring or in demanding fixed installations.
