GAE System 12

The premise of System 12 is the highest possible flexibility and adaptability in terms of acoustic and technical properties. This concept culminates in the wide range of acoustic applications (installation, touring, gala) and the flight-mechanical implementation of architect specific requirements through intelligent enclosure preparation, all this at minimum weight, as all speakers are equipped with N/DYM magnets. Highest component quality in drivers, filters and enclosures, elegant design according to the motto: "Form follows function".

Therefore GAE's System 12 is a versatile 2-way loudspeaker system. This model is available either as an active (controllable via two separate power amplifier channels - model System 12a) or passive system (incl. built-in crossover - model System 12).
The bass-reflex tuned 12" N/DYM LF driver has a power handling of 350 Watts according to IEC standard 268-5 and is capable of delivering sound pressure levels of up to 128 dB (1 m). It ideally complements the 70 watt 1.4" N/DYM HF compression driver. It can be mounted either on an 80° x 60° (System 12-8) or a 60° x 40° (System 12-6) square horn construction. The horn is handmade from glass fibre laminate and is therefore extremely resistant to mechanical influences.

The cabinet is made of multi-layer glued birch multiplex of the highest quality and sealed with black textured lacquer as standard. Surfaces in other RAL shades are of course available. The front of the loudspeaker and the driver components installed there are protected by a domed, stable and ball-proof metal grille, which is covered with an opaque acoustic foam from the outside. The acoustic foam can also be supplied in a different colour.

The System 12 combines high output levels with natural and distortion-free reproduction (thanks to the high-efficiency crossover design) in a compact cabinet. As a full-range loudspeaker for medium-throw applications, it is suitable for both tough everyday touring and for any fixed installation.
