General:
The GAE BR118 is a sublow extension for the full range speakers of the ProStage and the larger models of the System Series as well as equivalent speaker systems. This direct-radiating subwoofer is housed in an optimally tuned enclosure, which allows the maximum acoustic output power of the chassis, while the unique effectiveness/bandwidth ratio plus the optimized damping characteristics allow for an extended usage profile. By making optimum use of the mechanical and thermal properties of the driver used, maximum sound pressures of up to 129 dB (1 m) are possible.

The extremely large tunnel surface made of 18 mm multiplex guarantees highest bass reflex efficiency and at the same time increases the statics of the baffle. The cabinet walls are also made of high-quality birch multiplex and are additionally equipped with stiffening belts to prevent wall resonances.
The handle constructions are designed for best handling and additionally stiffen the cabinet walls. Furthermore, the handles are of such a solid construction that they can accommodate the threaded plates for spacer rods, thus emphasising the elegant appearance of this bass cabinet. The cabinet is sealed with black textured paint as standard. Surfaces in other RAL colours are of course available. The front of the speaker and the driver components installed there are protected by a sturdy metal grille, which is backed opaquely with a noble acoustic foam.

On the top as well as on one side of the cabinet a high stand flange is installed. This allows a loudspeaker spacer rod with M20 thread to be mounted in a standing or lying position. Four recessed grips on the sides of the cabinet guarantee a balanced transport without top load.

The entire construction fulfils all conceivable requirements in the field of professional sound reinforcement technology, whether in everyday mobile touring or in demanding fixed installations.
